The tangled mass of vibrant colors shooting out of the head makes visual the struggle to explain the traumatized mind.  Surviving each day is challenging enough, but then we face trying to describe the sensation to others.

Abuse is an unfortunate reality in this world and is more than physical assault. The invisible trauma we suffer can result in chronic illness, which is a relentless beast gnawing away at the soundness of mind. Education and support from others are vital in the healing journey.

  1. You are so right, Sarah! I kept telling my health care providers that my legs feel like plastic lawn furniture – nobody got it, until one doctor tested my reflexes and told me it is numbness I’m feeling.
